Keeping busy in Yuma

Last week we went with the park "Singles club" to visit a new park in Yuma. It is built on the site of an old city dump. It is a beautiful park. With areas of "habitat" for different species of desert wild life. There is a place for "Burrowing Owls, Humming birds and Butterflies." Open areas for rabbits and other mammals. Below is your lettuce being picked and packaged in the field.
(click on the photos and they will enlarge.)
Remote sail boats racing in the small lake in the park

Gloria's favorite bird the Road Runner. It doesn't sit still very long.

The humming bird is easy to see in this photo.

If you look in the NW quarter of this photo you will see a humming bird.

This is one of the play areas built in the park. It is constructed completely with composite wood. It is a very busy place.

This statue is in honer of the "Mormon Brigade" that camped here on the way to San Diego. During the Revaluation.

We went to the "Light Parade" in old town Yuma. They had lots of lighted cars and trucks. Unfortunately our cameras have slow shunter speeds in the dark.

Things to see in Yuma Lakes

There isn't a lot to see in Yuma lakes besides RVs. These are Cattle Egrets roosting on the dead brush in the lake. (more illegals)

The lake. It supposed to be 13 acer'e. But it looks small to me. It has Small mouth Bass, Crappies and cat fish. (trash fish.)

Coots mowing the lawn.

Day trip to Los Algodones B.C

Shoe shine parlor. You get a shine for $2 or less. A hair cut for $3.
This is our favorite ally to shop in while in Algodones.

Necklace's and ear rings.

A wall of Wall hangings. See anything you like?

This guy had some of everything. These guys pester you while you are eating your lunch. One after the other.

Little girl selling tacky birds made out of feathers.

The deal is sealed. This girl pestered Gloria all during lunch and finely she sold her a Red Coral ring to go with Gloria's red coral pendent. Some thing she really needed. Not.

Thanks Giving/Yuma lakes

We are now in Yuma Lakes Resort (kinda) We will be here until the 28th. of Dec. at least. We are due into El Golfo Mexico on the 4th of Jan. If we can buy a week in El Golfo we will go there on the 28th. and stay until the 28th of Jan. We will try to get more photos and update better.
We are new to this Bloger stuff. We went to one of our favorite parks for Thanksgiving. It is the Desert Gem in Salome AZ. We have had some of the best dinners in this park. They are under new management this year and never missed a beat. The dinner was wonderful. The park provides the birds and potato's and gravy we provide everything else. There was a over supply of every thing else we really over ate. Gloria and I went into town on Wednesday night for dinner at the local pizza parlor. Cris and Dian the previous owners of the park came in just after we did. We had a nice visit as they joined us for a great pizza. This is the only photo we have as i forgot to take any of our dinner. Still learning.

What else can you do?

First you have to Park and set up. We have had this same spot three years in a row. We missed one year in five. WE will be leaving here the day before Thanksgiving and going to the "Desert Gem" a small RV park in Salome AZ. WE have stayed there several times and they have real family style turkey dinner. The park supplies the bird potato's and gravy. The tenants provide all the rest. Will post it.
You can wash the car (daily).

You can fish off the dock.

You can visit with a real Deputy Dog. On his weekend off from search and rescue.

You can view Arizona wild life.

You can visit the Parker Dam.

Sun set from our table.

Dinner on the river at the Road Runner.

A $10 Prime Rib cooked as you like it.

What do you do on the Colorado

Below are a few f the water craft that go up and down the Colorado in front of our spot. There is almost any kind of floating device known to man. Most of them are loud.

You can go slow. Or....

You can go half fast.

You can go fast.

Or you can haul ass!

Laughlin NV.

Temperature when we got here 85

This is the view from our home for the next two weeks. We are at Emerald Cove one the the parks in our membership. It is right on the Colorado River on the California side across from Parker AZ.
These are some of the fish in the moat around the River Bell.

This was the view from our coach .

Colorado Bell Gloria's favorite place until this year. All their slots are paper only. You can't put coins in them and they don't pay with coins. Only printed receipts.

We are on the road! Finely

This is a good place to eat. It is in Summer Lake. They have a pond nest door with lots of duck's and gees on it. While we were eating breakfast a screech owl landed on a fence post and a hawk sat on the post next to him. Made for an enjoyable meal. We stopped here last summer and had a good lunch. We got too Fallon NV. the first night in time to watch the second half of the Duck's stopping AZ. State. See they are number three today.

We are having trouble with our Internet dish, but we finely are up. Hope next time it works with no calls to Datasstorm.

What is that in the road. Cow boys?

We are surrounded by "prim rib on the hoof. You wouldn't believe what the front of the car looked like after driving three miles through this.

Halloween night

WE had some really strange trick or treaters. This year!

This is our neighbors and their family Tom, Amy and Piper their youngest. Didn't get the older kids.
